If your brain has to “decide,” it will delay. Make the right action the default.

Most people think productivity is about discipline. But discipline is expensive. It burns mental fuel. And when you’re stressed (or ADHD-brained), the decision is the real enemy.
Here’s the move: stop asking yourself to choose.
Set up defaults—automatic, pre-decided actions that happen with minimal thought. You don’t “decide” to do the right thing. You fall into it.

Research on default effects shows that what’s set as the “no-action” option powerfully shapes behavior. A classic example is organ donation: changing the default choice dramatically changes opt-in rates. science.org+1
Why it works:
✅ Removes daily decision friction (less mental negotiation)
✅ Reduces procrastination by eliminating “Should I?”
✅ Creates consistency even when motivation is low
✅ Turns good intentions into predictable systems
Today’s Challenge:
Pick one habit you keep “thinking about,” and make it the default in under 10 minutes:
Put the workout clothes on the chair (not in the drawer)
Set your calendar to auto-block 30 minutes for the task
Change your phone home screen so the first icon is what you want more of
Make the “bad” option slightly harder (log out, move it, delete it)
Final Thought:
Willpower is a match. Defaults are a furnace. -1% CheatCode
